MT Brion
🪦 The MT Brion typeface emerged from a visit to the Brion Memorial in San Vito, a small village near Altivole in Italy’s Treviso province.
This monumental funerary complex was commissioned in 1969 by Onorina Tomasin-Brion, widow of Giuseppe Brion, the founder of Brionvega, and designed by renowned Venetian architect Carlo Scarpa. đź”—
The inscriptions on the couple’s tombs, marked by letters of varying widths, inspired the typeface’s design: a narrower style dedicated to Onorina and a wider one to Giuseppe. 🔤
MT Brion also incorporates numerals and symbols inspired by Scarpa’s lettering, capturing the artistic spirit of the memorial.
Dedicated to the unique Genius of Carlo Scarpa and the Brion family ♾️
