MT Brion

🪦 The MT Brion typeface emerged from a visit to the Brion Memorial in San Vito, a small village near Altivole in Italy’s Treviso province.

This monumental funerary complex was commissioned in 1969 by Onorina Tomasin-Brion, widow of Giuseppe Brion, the founder of Brionvega, and designed by renowned Venetian architect Carlo Scarpa. 🔗

The inscriptions on the couple’s tombs, marked by letters of varying widths, inspired the typeface’s design: a narrower style dedicated to Onorina and a wider one to Giuseppe. 🔤

MT Brion also incorporates numerals and symbols inspired by Scarpa’s lettering, capturing the artistic spirit of the memorial.
